What is the IVA register in UK?

The IVA register is part of the Insolvency register, and maintained by the Insolvency Service. It is a public record also.The Insolvency register contains details of the following:

  • Individual Voluntary Arrangements.
  • Fast-Track Voluntary Arrangements.
  • Bankruptcy Orders (current or those that have ended in the last 3 months).

The IVA register (Insolvency Register), which covers England and Wales, can be searched online at the Insolvency Service website or at your local official receiver’s office.

What Details Appear on the IVA insolvency register?

The following details appear on the register:

  • Type of insolvency (ie bankruptcy, IVA, or DRO)
  • Full name and title
  • Occupation
  • Gender
  • Full address
  • Date of birth
  • Start and end date of the insolvency
  • The Insolvency Practitioner (IP) responsible for the case
  • IP’s contact details

If you think that having details of your address published on the IIR could put you in danger, you can appeal to have it removed, but this is uncommon.

The information listed varies slightly according to the type of insolvency process undertaken but will generally include name, address, date of birth, occupation and details of the arrangement.
